Progress-M66 disconnected from MKS. / May 7, 2009 /

The transport ship «Progress-M66» loaded by dust successfully disconnected from the International space station, informs «Interfax» referring to Control centre of flights.

«The next two weeks the ship will spend in an orbit of the Earth. During its independent flight geophysical experiment ’ Plasma-progress ’» will be made, — representatives have declared.

The experiment purpose is studying of the characteristic of plasma. At its carrying out the radar of not coherent dispersion established in Irkutsk will be used.

On May, 18th «Progress-M66» will descend from an orbit and will be liquidated over preset area in a southern part of Pacific ocean.

The transport ship «Progress-M66» пристыковался to МКС on February, 13th, 2009. It delivered to station about 2,4 tons of cargo: fuel, oxygen, stocks of food for cosmonauts and the new computerised survival suits supplied наручным with the display. Besides, by means of the transport ship correction of orbit МКС has been carried out.

On May, 7th from the cosmodrome Baikonur to МКС will go the cargo ship «Progress М-02М». Its start is appointed at 22:37 Moscow time.
