Operations and experiments on the International Space Station July 28, 2011. / July 28, 2011 /

28 July, the Russian segment of International Space Station is planned to continue work on preparations for the release of the crew into space, including the installation of attachments on their spacesuits, lighting and video cameras, the preparation of a microsatellite «Cedar», as well as the installation of mechanisms to connect the ships «Progress M-10M» and «Progress M-11M,» Control mikroekosfery habitat and maintenance of coolant.

ISS attitude control mode is supported on gyrodines American segment.

The program of scientific experiments conducted aboard the Russian segment of ISS:
biomedical research, «Biorisk» (study of the influence of space factors on the state of the systems’ micro-organisms — substrates "as applied to the problem of ecological safety of space vehicles and planetary quarantine);
biotechnology space, «Biotrack» (the study of the correlation between the change in genetic properties, the productivity of recombinant strains in microgravity and the effects on them of heavy charged particles of cosmic radiation), «lactol» (determine the effect of exposure to conditions of orbital flight on the growth, genetic and physiological characteristics of strain lactol-producer), «Ginseng-2» (to study the characteristics of a cell culture of ginseng and other crops in order to identify opportunities to increase their biological activity), «Bacteriophage» (study of the effects of space flight on bacteriophages), «Calcium» (to study the effect of microgravity on the solubility of calcium phosphates in the water);
exploration of the solar system, «BTN-Neutron» (the study of fast and thermal neutrons);
study the physical conditions in space orbiting the Earth, «Matryoshka-R» (the study of the dynamics of the radiation environment on the flight path and in ISS compartments, and dose accumulation in the anthropomorphic phantom, placed inside the station);
remote sensing, «Microwave radiometry» (study of the characteristics of the underlying surface, ocean and atmosphere), «Seiner» (experimental testing methods of interaction crew of the Russian segment of International Space Station with the courts Rosrybolovstva to search for and development of industrial-productive areas of the oceans);
geophysics and near-Earth space: «Splash» (monitoring of seismic effects — bursts of high energy particles in near-Earth space), «Lightning-Gamma» (investigating atmospheric flashes of gamma radiation and optical activity in a thunderstorm), «Hurricane» (experimental development of an Earth- space system for monitoring and forecasting of natural and man-made disasters);
technical research and experiments, «range» (the study and use of signals of a global time from the ISS to refine your orbital motion), «Bend», «Identity,» «Wednesday ISS»;
medical examination (examination of the cardiovascular system during exercise stress).

The ISS crew is working 28-second long expedition in the Russian Federal Space Agency cosmonaut commander Andrei Borisenko, flight engineers and Samokutyaeva Alexander Sergei Volkov (Roscosmos), Ronald Garan and Michael Fossum (NASA), Satoshi Furukawa (JAXA).
