Operations and experiments on the International Space Station August 26, 2011. / August 26, 2011 /

August 26 astronauts Andrei Borisenko, Alexander Volkov and Sergei Samokutyaevu will hold a series of scientific experiments aboard the Russian segment of ISS.

Biomedical research:
study of growth and development of higher plants, as well as the development of the technology of their cultivation in microgravity («Plants-2»);
study the influence of space factors on the state of the systems’ micro-organisms — substrates "as applied to the problem of ecological safety of space technology and planetary quarantine (" Biorisk ").

Space biotechnology:
study of the correlation between the change in genetic properties, the productivity of recombinant strains in microgravity and the effects on them of heavy charged cosmic ray particles («Biotrack»);
determine the effect of exposure to conditions of orbital flight on the growth, genetic and physiological characteristics of the producer strain lactol (’lactol ");
study of the effects of space flight on bacteriophages («bacteriophage»);
to study the effect of microgravity on the solubility of calcium phosphates in the water («Calcium»);
to study the characteristics of a cell culture of ginseng and other crops in order to identify opportunities to increase their biological activity («Ginseng-2»).

Exploration of the solar system:
study of fast and thermal neutrons («BTN-Neutron»).

Investigation of the physical conditions in space orbiting the Earth:
study the dynamics of the radiation environment on the flight path and in ISS compartments, and dose accumulation in the anthropomorphic phantom, placed inside the station («Matryoshka-R»).

Remote sensing:
study of the characteristics of the underlying surface, ocean and atmosphere («microwave radiometry»).

Geophysics and near-Earth space:
Monitoring seismic effects — bursts of high energy particles in near-Earth space («Splash»);
study of atmospheric gamma bursts and optical radiation in terms of thunderstorm activity («Lightning-Gamma»).

Technical research and experiments:
identification of sources of disturbances in violation of the conditions of microgravity on the ISS («Identification»);
study on the effect of the functioning of the systems on board the ISS in terms («Bend»);
comprehensive study of the parameters of the ISS as a man-made environment of the various studies («ISS Wednesday»);
study of high-precision motion estimation ISS («Vector-T»);
testing of equipment and demonstration of Russian technology round-trip information Space laser line («SLS»).

The Russian cosmonauts will be a medical examination.

ISS attitude control mode is carried out on gyrodines American segment.

The ISS crew is working 28-second long expedition in the Russian Federal Space Agency cosmonaut commander Andrei Borisenko, flight engineers and Samokutyaeva Alexander Sergei Volkov (Roscosmos), Ronald Garan and Michael Fossum (NASA), Satoshi Furukawa (JAXA).
