A probe Opportunity has found a piece of the rock on Mars, which is a high probability of a meteorite. Find is described in a message on the website NASA.

Specialists, oversees the work of Opportunity, noticed kamen18 July. A probe has received a command otehat back 250 meters and to examine the find in more detail. In the long object, which scientists named «Stone Island» (Block Island) is about 60 centimeters. Based on the pictures sent by the probe, scientists reconstructed the appearance of the object. Opportunity has been transferred command to gather data on the chemical composition of the stone by means of X-ray spectrometer.

Mars Opportunity and Spirit are exploring Mars since 2004. Initially, the scientists calculated that the elaborate apparatus of 90 days. Currently, Spirit is trying to escape from the trap into which he fell. Mars buttons in the sand and can not renew the motion. To save the Spirit, engineers on Earth modeled Martian conditions and try different options, using a model of Mars.
