Launch vehicle Ariane-5 put into orbit two communications satellites.. / August 6, 2010 /

Launch vehicle Ariane-5 on Wednesday night started from the equatorial Kourou in French Guiana. It has to orbit satellites for the two African operators, according to the European space group Arianespace.

It was the third launch of Ariane-5 this year. Arianespace rocket company into orbit satellites for the Egyptian operator Nilesat and African operator RascomStar-QAF. Both satellites developed by Thales Alenia Space.

Satellite Nilesat 201, which is located at position 7 degrees west longitude, will transmit television programs to customers in North Africa, the Middle East and Gulf countries.

Rascom-QAF1R, located at position 2.85 degrees east longitude, will provide telecommunications services, television and the Internet for the whole of Africa, as well as some parts of Europe and the Middle East.

Just this year, Arianespace has scheduled seven launches of carrier rockets.
