Rokot launcher put into orbit "Gonets-M" spacecraft .. / September 8, 2010 /

Today, from Plesetsk the crew of the Space Forces successfully conducted the missile of Rokot light class launcher with set of spacecrafts for the Defense Ministry and the «Gonets-M» spacecraft. Start the launcher went into normal mode.

Further removal of spacecraft in orbit carried Upper Stage Breeze-KM. At the estimated time spacecrafts successfully separated from the booster.

The Rokot light class launcher was established by Federal State Unitary Enterprise «State Research and Production Center by Khrunichev» on the basis removed from service two-stage RS-18 ballistic missile and was designed to launch satellites weighing up to two tons into low Earth orbit. Rokot consists of 3 stages. The first two steps represent a set of accelerators strategic missile RS-18 (SS-19). As a third step uses a new upper stage Breeze-KM, also designed and manufactured at the Khrunichev Center .

The current launch is a 14-th carrier rockets Rokot from Plesetsk, starting in 2000: 10 launches have been carried out on behalf of foreign customers in the joint venture Eurockot (Evrokot) (implementing marketing the launcher in the world market) and 4 starting in under the Federal Space Program of Russia.
