The "Progress-M-03M" has launched to the ISS. / October 15, 2009 /

Launch vehicle «Soyuz-U» with the spacecraft «Progress-M-03M» has launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in the morning of October 15, RIA Novosti reported.

The launch held in normal mode, told the representatives of the Mission Control Center. The cargo spaceship docking with the ISS on October 17 at 05:41 Moscow time, said representatives of MCC. At the same time, the site Roskosmos said that «Progress-M-03M» Dock to ISS 05:41 18 October.

The spacecraft will deliver to the International Space Station 2.5 tons of cargo: a parcel, food, water supplies and other consumables necessary for the crew.

«Progress-M-03M» get the third «digital» cargo spaceship, sent into orbit. The first cargo spaceship, equipped with a digital control system, was launched to the ISS on Nov. 26, 2008. The last «analogue» truck — «Progress M-67» — was sent to the International Space Station in July 2009.

Transition of cargo spacecraft to the digital control system allows to increase the reliability of «Progress», as well as made room for additional cargo.
