The ISS Astronauts will take part in the population census. / October 18, 2010 /

Russian cosmonauts are on the ISS, will participate in the census of the population. October 18 will be a session of the crew from Mission Control Center, in which cosmonauts Alexander Kaleri, Oleg and Fyodor Yurchikhin Skripochka answer questions from the enumerators.

Kaleri and Skripochka answer questions during the session, radio, and their colleague Yurchikhin will talk to scribes during the session televizonnoy communication. In addition, the astronauts will show the completed questionnaires, which were delivered to the ISS cargo spacecraft «Progress», along with fuel, scientific equipment and products.

Russian cosmonauts participated in the previous census, which took place in 2002. Then on board the ISS were Valery Korzun and Sergei Treschev. It clarifies the RIA Novosti, the Russian census in 2002 became the first in the world, which was attended by astronauts in orbit.

All-Russian population census takes place from 14 to 25 October. The cost of its implementation Rosstat estimated at 17 billion rubles.
