"Progress" has docked to the ISS.. / July 30, 2012 /

The spacecraft «Progress M-15M» at the second attempt is docked to the International Space Station (ISS). As RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Mission Control Center (MCC), at the morning of Sunday, July 29, dockein was in the normal mode.

It was through a new docking approach ыныеуь «Kurs-NA.»

«Progress M-15M» undocked from the ISS on July 23, to conduct a test docking with the «Course-ON.» The first attempt, but failed: the system is interrupted by the convergence of the spacecraft and the station. After that, the «Progress» was taken to a safe distance of 500 kilometers and re-appointed to the dock on July 29.

A new system of «Course-ON» features an almost complete abandonment of analog signal processing — this function is performed by microprocessors.

After testing the system will be installed in the cargo «Progress» and in manned spacecraft «Soyuz».
