Launch vehicle Ariane 5 with two companions on Wednesday, December 29, local time, was launched from Kourou in French Guiana, according to the official website of the program Arianespace.

Ariane 5 launch — the last in 2010 — was scheduled for December 28 but due to difficult weather conditions in the area of the Baikonur launch had to be postponed.

Dec. 29 start of the launch vehicle took place in normal mode. South Korean and Spanish telecommunications satellite was put into the proper orbit, according to Arianespace posted on the website reported.

Total in 2010 from Kourou held six Ariane 5 launches. The first launch of Ariane 5 in 2011 is scheduled for February 15.
