Two Rockets Delivered to Launching Complex at Baikonur. / December 24, 2014 /An active preparation for the concluding 2014 final launches continues at Baikonur. Today, two carrier rockets were transported at once to the launching complexes at Baikonur by the Space & Rocket Industry’s experts. According to the State Commission’s decision on in-flight tests of the space systems, the Soyuz-2.1b ILV with the Russian Resurs-P No.2 remote sensing satellite was transported to launch complex, Pad 31. The rocket was delivered to launching pad, erected, and installed into the launcher; it is being mated to the umbilical connections. The launch teams started the Countdown Day 1 operations. Resurs-P No.2 is scheduled for launch on 26 December 2014 at 21:55 Moscow Time. Simultaneously with it, the Proton-M carrier rocket with the European ASTRA 2G communication spacecraft were delivered to launching complex, Pad 200. The rocket was installed into the launching pad and connected with service tower. All operations are on schedule. Proton-M ILV with the ASTRA 2G satellite is scheduled to be launched at 00:37 Moscow Time on 28 December 2014. ROSCOSMOS Press Service |
